The Purpose of this Site

Everything has a purpose.  The purpose of this site is to introduce the idea of a kudzu-eating insects.  We do not look to answer questions but to provide them.  Some suggestions for other designer insects are part of this site.   We hope that men and women of science in all parts of the world will explore these and many other possibilities.

The basic plan for this insect to be created is given in the site.   This is where genetic engineers and scientists come in.  Again, we do not answer the questions but provide guidance and insights to be discussed by students, teachers, scientists, and everyone else.

History of the Kudzu Butterfly

The idea of the Kudzu Butterfly came to me while riding with my father to Elberton, GA.  I was looking out of the car window and couldn't help but notice the kudzu growing on everything in sight.  I suggested, to my father, the idea of an animal of some kind that would eat the kudzu.  I pondered this idea on the way home and came to the conclusion that a butterfly would be a good animal to do this with.

My father discovered the ThinkQuest contest shortly after this, and I thought that this would make a good web site.  I talked to my friends Jonathan Bowers and Richard Kolkovich, and we all agreed to undertake the task of building a web site about a kudzu-eating butterfly.
