APPLESAUCE
Chunky: 4 med. apples, peel, core and slice 1 C. water 1/4 C. sugar
Dash cinnamon, or to taste Combine water, sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add apples. Simmer until tender, about 8 minutes. Stir frequently.
Smooth: 4 med. apples, peel, core and slice 1/4 to 1/2 C. water 1/4 C. sugar
Dash cinnamon, or to taste Combine apples, water and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cover and simmer until very tender, about 10 minutes. Mash apples until smooth. Stir in sugar.
For large amounts of apples, don't peel apples; put cooked apples through food mill or sieve.
