DELICIOUS BEEF STEW 

11/2 lb. beef stew, in 1 cubes 1/2 C. water

1 T. oil

1/4 tsp. basil

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 tsp. thyme

1 med. onion, sautéed until transparent 1/2 C. catsup
1/2 tsp. salt 4 carrots
1/2 tsp. pepper 4 ribs celery
1 can tomato soup 4 potatoes
1 C. dry red wine  

     Brown meat in oil. Add garlic, onion, salt, pepper, soup, wine and water. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add basil, thyme, catsup and vegetables. Cover and simmer 1½ to 2 hours.
