DELICIOUS BEEF STEW
| 11/2 lb. beef stew, in 1 cubes | 1/2 C. water |
|
1 T. oil |
1/4 tsp. basil |
|
1 clove garlic, minced |
1/4 tsp. thyme |
| 1 med. onion, sautéed until transparent | 1/2 C. catsup |
| 1/2 tsp. salt | 4 carrots |
| 1/2 tsp. pepper | 4 ribs celery |
| 1 can tomato soup | 4 potatoes |
| 1 C. dry red wine |
Brown meat in oil. Add garlic, onion, salt, pepper, soup, wine and water. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add basil, thyme, catsup and vegetables. Cover and simmer 1½ to 2 hours.
