BANANA NUT BREAD
1/2 C. shortening 1 tsp. vanilla 1 C. sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs 3 bananas, mashed (1 C) 2 C. flour 1/2 C. chopped pecans or walnuts 2 2/3 tsp soda Preheat oven to 350 degrees and flour 1 large loaf pan or 2 or 3 small pans. Cream together shortening and sugar. Blend in next 5 ingredients. Blend in mashed bananas. Add and blend in nuts last. Bake for 40 minutes in a large pan; 30 to 35 minutes in small pans.
